Questions
Is there a subscription or an app?
No. You pay once and the tag keeps working. You manage everything from your web browser, and people who find your pet just use their phone camera.
Does my pet still need a name and address tag?
For dogs, yes: in the UK, a dog's collar must show the owner's name and address when out in public, so a Ping My Pet tag goes alongside that tag. Other pets don't need one by law. Dogs and cats must also be microchipped, and our tags work alongside microchipping rather than replacing it.
Will people see my phone number?
Only if you choose. By default, finders message you through a form that goes to your email, so they never see your number or your email address. You can choose to show your number so they can call or text you directly.
Does it track where my pet is?
No, the tag has no battery or GPS. It helps whoever finds your pet get in touch with you, and if they choose, share their location when they message. It works well alongside a GPS tracker or AirTag.
Which size is right?
Our tags are 32 mm across, which suits most dogs and larger cats. For very small pets, a smaller, lighter tag may be more comfortable.
What if the tag gets damaged or lost?
Buy a new tag, then use "Replace this tag" on your pet's page. Everything moves across in a minute, and the old tag is switched off for good.
Can I return it?
Yes. If you change your mind, you can return an unused tag within 14 days of receiving it. Email hello@pingmypet.co.uk.
